Lockdown stories: Conversation with Women in Tax

Women in Tax and BDO are pleased to invite you to join us to share and reflect on the realities of working in tax during a global pandemic.

What is it like to recruit a new tax team during a global pandemic? How are new joiners learning company culture remotely? How has client delivery evolved during lockdown? What does a virtual pitch look like?

On Monday 16 March 2020, following Government’s guidance, most of us were encouraged to work from home. It's been almost one year since we left the office desks for dining tables, swapped sushi bars for sourdough starters and learned to love the local daily walk. Join us for an evening of conversations with women in tax as we exchange stories of the trials and triumphs of lockdown.

The panel will comprise of the following tax professionals from industry and private practice:

  • Trudie Alder (Head of Tax at Ovo Energy) – Recruiting a new team during a global pandemic

  • Iffat Ahmad (Associate at Travers Smith) and Phoebe Mak (Associate at BDO) – A junior perspective of working in lockdown

  • Charlotte Hobrough (Senior Manager at BDO) and Katy Rabindran (Director at BDO) – Starting a new job during lockdown

  • Karen McGrory (Tax Partner at BDO) - A senior’s perspective on pitching and developing new client relationships

This event is organised in partnership with BDO.
