International Women's Day- Male Allies, let's #BreakTheBias #HeForShe

Women in Tax and CIOT/ATT New Tax Professionals Committee present - International Women's Day Male Allies Event, let's #BreaktheBias #HeforShe.

This event is aimed at men and women in the tax profession.

Join us for this thought provoking event where we look at breaking the bias in the tax profession around male allies.

Working towards a more equal world has never been so important. This is an overall society issue and in order to achieve true gender parity we need both men and women to be on this journey. How do we help get males allies on board in the tax profession to help achieve gender parity?

Tasneem Kadiri (Chair of Women in Tax and UK & Ireland Tax Director for L'Oréal) will explore this topic in depth in a panel discussion with UN Women UK and males allies in the tax profession. She will be joined by:

Simon Gallow -Simon is an Advocate and HeForShe Lead for UN Women UK, having been Development Director, and a Policy Analyst in the UN Women Economic Empowerment Division in New York. He is also a Programme Manager at Amnesty International, leading a Programme on Children and Young People's Digital Rights, having been a Strategist and Co-lead for Women's Equality at the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). Simon also started his career in the private sector as a Management Consultant at Ernst & Young (EY), and holds a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from the Bennett Institute at Cambridge University.

Jeremy Coker - Jeremy is a past ATT President and is a Council member of the ATT. He works at Oury Clark and deals with all aspects of tax relating to private clients, high net worth individuals, owner managed businesses and small and medium sized enterprises.

Lee Holloway - Lee is a Corporate Tax Partner at Grant Thornton, based in London with around 19 years tax experience. Lee’s particular sector expertise is on the retail and consumer business sector, having worked in-house for nearly a decade leading the tax functions at Next plc and Halfords plc and also working as a tax Director at Molson Coors, a US listed global brewer.

Donations: We are asking for donations for this event. The amounts raised will be paid to UN Women UK (a charity). UN Women UK is the only global organisation working to make gender equality a reality in every way: from grassroots programmes with the most vulnerable women and girls, to changing attitudes, and helping governments design gender-equal policy. Let’s unite for every woman. The gender equality movement starts with you. For more details about this charity please visit https://www.unwomenuk.org/
