This event marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, when some women got the vote, and also celebrates International Women’s Day 2018.
The Women’s Tax Resistance League was part of the suffrage movement, campaigning on the subject of tax.
Helen Thornley, Technical Officer of the Association of Taxation Technicians, will give her talk based on her study of the League’s archives at the London School of Economics.
This event is open to all (and men are welcome too). Registration is from 5.30pm and the talk will begin promptly at 6pm. Refreshments will be available after the talk, kindly provided by Mazars UK.
