Women’s Tax Resistance League @ Mazars
Mar 7 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This event marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, when some women got the vote, and also celebrates International Women’s Day 2018.

The Women’s Tax Resistance League was part of the suffrage movement, campaigning on the subject of tax.

Helen Thornley, Technical Officer of the Association of Taxation Technicians, will give her talk based on her study of the League’s archives at the London School of Economics.

This event is open to all (and men are welcome too). Registration is from 5.30pm and the talk will begin promptly at 6pm. Refreshments will be available after the talk, kindly provided by Mazars UK.

Finding Your Voice @ Macfarlanes LLP
Mar 14 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to speak up in a meeting, or give a presentation, but been afraid your voice would not be heard?
Wendy Bradley draws on her experiences as a drama teacher and as an HMRC speaker to help us find our voice.

Be prepared to take your shoes off, stand your ground and speak out in this interactive session. There may be howling and growling during the evening but you will leave equipped with some techniques to make your voice heard.

Registration will be from 5.30pm with a prompt start for the session at 6pm.

Numbers will be limited to 24 to make the most of the interactive nature of this event. Younger women are particularly encouraged to attend, but all are welcome.
