With a law background, she spent 20 years in law and tax publishing, latterly as Tax Publishing Director at Butterworths Tolley (now LexisNexis), with responsibility for a portfolio which included Simon’s Taxes, the ‘Yellow and Orange’ handbooks, Tolley handbooks and the Tax Journal. She launched the on-line delivery of these and other flagship works, and helped put the Taxation Awards on the map. Liz was for some years the retained marketing consultant for the CIOT and ATT, and was a marketing director for a leading set of commercial barristers’ chambers in the Temple.
She regularly coaches professionals at all levels on networking skills – she has delivered sessions recently for Grant Thornton, the Oxford University Alumni Association, and on a regular basis for Pinsent Masons. To borrow a phrase from one of Liz’s training super-heroes, she enjoys helping people to be “great at the stuff they hate”, and will share with you her practical tips for developing your network and working a room.
As mentioned previously we are encouraging WiT members to invite clients or HMRC contacts they feel would like to attend the event so please do share this invitation. Anyone working in or interested in tax in the region is welcome, regardless of gender.
